About

My tribes are diverse. So much so, that at my funeral, there’s a good possibility that World War III might break out. I’ve got tribes for talking politics, tribes for talking theology, tribes for talking homeschool curriculum, tribes for parenting, rich tribes, poor tribes, but none of my tribes would necessarily get along with or even like each other. I’m the oddball caught in the middle somewhere, liking them all, but not quite able to completely identify with any of them.

I’ve run a marathon, traveled the world, earned my doctorate, and I still haven’t found a box that I fit into or a label that describes me, but I’m starting to be ok with that and actually enjoy keeping people guessing.

What I do know is that I am a beloved child of God, a wife to an amazing world changer, and a mama to two adorable, young adult “goslins”, whom we homeschooled until college and purposefully raised to have hearts for all of God’s children and to be responsive to the words of Christ.

I am passionate about social justice, purposeful parenting, Christ-like living and all things health.  I enjoy reading, writing, playing music with my kiddos, hiking, camping and collecting plant-based recipes.

I’m striving to become a minimalist (except for my secret vice of hoarding children’s books) so that I can live my life focused on God’s simple priorities and clear away the physical, mental and emotional clutter that people, life, and sometimes even church tend to offer. So I won’t be stuffing your inbox, but I hope to fill your soul.

My hope is to always have time for tea with those I love and for lots of moments outside being  still in the presence of my God. My prayer is for compassion to break my heart for those in need, for courage to raise my voice for the voiceless and for wisdom to use my privilege to bring the kingdom of God to this earth.

love God. love others.
